About InterViews

InterViews with Paint and Silver (2005) For this project I paired black and white photographs with abstract color watercolors. In today’s instantaneous world we are accustomed to quickly assessing what’s presented to us, often skimming only the surface. I wanted to combine these images in ways that would hint at deeper meanings and give the viewer reasons to dig. I borrowed part of my concept from the principle of 3D: seeing through two separate eyes gives us greater depth of perception. In presenting two visual languages together I wanted to stimulate, in the viewer, two modes of looking at the same time, so that he might see more in each medium, because of the other. A limited edition portfolio of five image combinations accompanied two solo exhibits of this work.
